Minister André Mendonça, of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), announced on Tuesday that he will bring to the Court's plenary the new elements presented by the Federal Police about an alleged monitoring and influence network set up by banker Daniel Vorcaro. According to the minister, the analysis by the collegiate body will occur regardless of any position from the Attorney General's Office (PGR).
Mendonça determined that the discussion be held in an in-person, public and transparent session, and lifted the secrecy from the case. The case brings together information produced by the PF from the analysis of Vorcaro's phone, including messages between Minister Alexandre de Moraes and the banker.
The minister stated that the path of the records inevitably leads to the STF Plenary, with the "sovereign instance" responsible for analyzing the elements. The date of the session should be defined by the president of the court, Minister Edson Fachin.
