Damares to file new impeachment request against Moraes this afternoon

Senator Damares Alves, from Republicanos of the Federal District, announced that she will file a new impeachment request against Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Federal Court on Tuesday. The request will be submitted in the afternoon.

The decision to file the new request comes amid the release of new messages exchanged between former banker Daniel Vorcaro and the STF minister. The messages reportedly were revealed recently, generating new controversies about Moraes's conduct.

This is not the first impeachment request against the minister filed by Damares. The senator had previously filed requests, which were not accepted by the Senate presidency.

The messages between Vorcaro and Moraes reportedly were shared exclusively, and according to the report, give rise to new suspicions about alleged irregularities in the conduct of the Supreme minister.
