Rock in Rio is a festival that requires special skin care due to prolonged sun exposure, intense heat, sweat, makeup, and pollution throughout an entire day. Dermatologist Andréa Sampaio warns that the fun at the event can be intense for the skin and recommends preparation even before leaving home. According to her, well-hydrated skin with a preserved skin barrier can better handle the external aggressions typical of the festival.
Sunscreen is pointed out as an essential item and should be reapplied throughout the event, especially when there is intense sweating. The specialist explains that heat and excessive perspiration can increase skin oiliness and favor the appearance of blackheads and pimples.
Andréa Sampaio advises that it is not recommended to wash your face multiple times to try to control oiliness, as excessive cleansing can sensitize the skin and compromise its protective barrier. The recommendation is to opt for gentle cleansing and use products suitable for each person's skin type.
Makeup, which is part of the look for festival-goers, is also mentioned as a factor that can contribute to the buildup of impurities on the skin during the event.
