The European Parliament held a public hearing to consult more than 30 entities on the impact of artificial intelligence on the cultural sector. The initiative was led by Portuguese MEP Hélder Sousa Silva and took place in Brussels.
The event brought together representatives from various areas, including creators, publishers, technology platforms and consumers, in an effort to gather varied perspectives on the matter.
The aim of the hearing is to prepare an own-initiative report on the regulation of artificial intelligence in the cultural and creative context. This work comes within the framework of European discussions on how to regulate AI in order to protect creators' rights and promote innovation in the sector.
