The Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing announced that 31,700 public homes were completed by the end of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) deadline. This number represents the fulfillment of the target set for the construction of public housing under this European financing program.
To achieve this objective, the 1st Right program funds were reinforced by 2,800 million euros through the State Budget. These complementary funds came to add to the financial resources made available by the PRR to support the construction of public housing in Portugal.
The 1st Right program constitutes a financing instrument created by the Portuguese State to support housing solutions in partnership with municipalities, cooperatives, and other entities. The budget reinforcement allowed for the acceleration of the execution of public housing construction targets across the national territory.
