The Municipality of Ponte de Lima is investing 974 thousand euros in the technological modernization of the education and teaching establishments in the municipality. The project is 85% funded by the NORTE 2030 program and covers kindergartens and primary schools, with the aim of strengthening learning conditions and providing the educational community with technological resources appropriate to the new challenges of teaching.
The intervention includes the installation of 159 SMART Boards interactive panels, 345 computers, 14 robotics and programming kits, and 125 Wi-Fi access points, as well as the renewal of network infrastructure and computer rooms. Schools will benefit from classrooms with large-format interactive panels and 4K resolution to replace traditional blackboards, as well as new high-performance compact computers.
The project also includes an 84-hour training program for educators, aimed at promoting the pedagogical integration of the new tools. At the same time, the school computer network will be improved with next-generation wireless access points, Wi-Fi 7 technology and advanced switching and security solutions, allowing faster and more stable use even with hundreds of devices connected simultaneously.
