U-turn at the Bank of Mozambique: Felisberto Navalha rises to governor after presidential reversal

The President of the Republic of Mozambique, Daniel Chapo, carried out a U-turn in the appointment of the governor of the Bank of Mozambique. Less than 24 hours after announcing Waldemar de Sousa for the position, Chapo revoked that appointment and designated Felisberto Dinis Navalha to replace the position of governor.

Felisberto Dinis Navalha had initially been indicated for the position of vice-president of the Bank of Mozambique. With the change of plans, he became the new governor of the country's central bank.

The presidential decision led to the cancellation of the inauguration ceremony that was scheduled for Tuesday, highlighting the speed and unpredictability of the leadership change at the financial institution.
