The City Council of Viana do Castelo launched a merchandising line for 'Marca Viana', which is available for sale at the Costume Museum and Museum of Decorative Arts. The collection was created by Dânia Cerqueira Amorim, a 24-year-old young woman from Perre with a degree in Communication Design.
The municipality promoted the 'Marca Viana' Merchandising Design Competition with the purpose of bringing young people closer to decision-making processes and giving them the opportunity to participate in creative processes related to the history and identity of the city.
The initiative arose from the importance of identity and culture as fundamental elements for the enhancement and promotion of a city. The competition aimed to encourage the creativity of young people and strengthen the connection between the community and Viana do Castelo, through a product line representative of the history, tradition, heritage, and modernity of the city.
The collection was developed from a contemporary perspective, maintaining the identity of 'Marca Viana', and includes pieces in shades of red, black, and cream, including hooded sweatshirt, apron, mug, pen, magnet, canvas backpack, and unisex t-shirt, among other articles.
