ULS Lezíria receives the first Misterium Modular Room on the Iberian Peninsula

The Local Health Unit of Lezíria (ULS Lezíria) received on August 31st a new Modular Room for the Preparation of Cytotoxic Medications, developed by Grifols Engineering, which will be installed at the District Hospital of Santarém. This is the first Misterium Modular Room on the Iberian Peninsula.

The installation of the structure required a complex logistics operation, which temporarily conditioned part of the hospital's parking. The modules were transported in specialized trucks and lifted by a crane to the installation site, located next to the future Psychiatry area and in the vicinity of the Pharmaceutical Services.

The investment, valued at approximately 600 thousand euros, will strengthen the capacity for the preparation of medications used in oncological treatments, contributing to improving the safety, quality and efficiency of the care provided to patients.

During the last three years, ULS Lezíria resorted daily to the Hospital of Torres Novas, of the Local Health Unit of Médio Tejo, to ensure this type of preparation of cytotoxic medications.
