The Frenchman Tronchon achieved his first Grand Tour victory by winning the 10th stage of the Vuelta. The Groupama rider surprised the sprinters by securing the win, something that was not expected given the nature of the stage.

This victory also represents the first triumph for Groupama in this edition of the race, marking a historic moment for the team. Tronchon demonstrated an exceptional performance to manage to overcome the main sprinters in the peloton.

Portuguese rider Ivo Oliveira finished the stage 35 seconds behind the winner, in a performance that placed him among the best classified of the day. As for João Almeida, another Portuguese in the race, he ended up being over eight minutes behind Tronchon, facing a more complicated day.

Deal closed! José María Giménez is not going to be a Benfica player - Exclusive confirmed

José María Giménez will not be a Benfica player, as confirmed by transfer specialist Matteo Moretto. The 31-year-old Uruguayan centre-back is close to signing for Deportivo da Corunha, a club newly promoted to La Liga. The deal is in the final stages of document exchange between the Spanish clubs. Benfica never considered moving for the player due to his contractual situation: Giménez has a contract with Atlético de Madrid until 2028 and earns a salary considered too high for the reality of the red-and-white club, with no ongoing negotiations between the parties.
