The village of Sameice, in the municipality of Seia, will celebrate the Festas in Honour of Nossa Senhora da Ajuda between September 5th and 9th. The festivities include musical entertainment, traditional gastronomy, games, procession and solemn masses throughout the five days.
On Saturday, September 5th, the festivities begin at 7:00 PM at the venue with bar service and traditional snacks such as bifanas, barbecue chicken and caldo verde soup. The musical entertainment on the first night is provided by the group AS Band at 10:00 PM. On Sunday, September 6th, there is a communal lunch at 1:00 PM with spit-roasted pig, rice and beans, followed by a performance by the duo Sara Gouveia & Inês Barros at 4:00 PM and a dance with the Group ONE at 10:00 PM.
Monday, September 7th, is dedicated to traditional games during the afternoon and a dance with Banda TIME at 10:00 PM. The highlight of the festivities takes place on Tuesday, September 8th, with the dawn at 8:00 AM by the Banda Sociedade Instrução e Recreio de Paços da Serra, collection of the portable altars at 10:00 AM, Solemn Mass at 11:00 AM and Procession through the streets of the village at 3:30 PM. The program also includes the auction of the fogaças, concert by the philharmonic band, dance with the group Caravela Musical and raffle draw at midnight.
The organization offers a special lunch on Tuesday at 12:30 PM at the Junta de Freguesia Hall, served by the restaurant "A Saborosa", with various starters, fish soup and veal treats with wild mushrooms. Registration is mandatory until September 3rd through the provided contacts. The festivities have the support of the União das Freguesias de Sameice e Santa Eulália and the Municipality of Seia.
