The National Republican Guard (GNR) arrested two men aged 53 and 54 in Almeirim today, authorities reported in a statement. The individuals were arrested on suspicion of illegal possession of weapons, document forgery, and driving without a legal license.

The police operation arose following an anonymous report that reported suspicious movements on the public road by two individuals. The GNR military then began procedures to locate and identify the suspects.

The two men were intercepted by authorities during the operation. The security forces did not specify whether the suspects were brought before court nor when the events that originated the investigation occurred.
