Students from the University of Beira Interior (UBI) are organizing a free sunset called Sinestesia, scheduled for September 5th, from 6 PM to midnight, at the Portas do Sol viewpoint in Covilhã. The event features the artists Saint Caboclo, Manoamour, Rhavilla, Enzin, and Sopro, and entry is free and open to all.
The project is organized by two friends studying Communication Sciences and Fashion Design at UBI, with the collaboration of various local entities, including Xtreme Eventos, Epicentro, Micampus Covilhã, Covilhã a Marchar, Covilhã City Council, and Águas da Covilhã.
Sinestesia is a cultural intervention project born in Covilhã in 2023, created to transform the city's nightlife and defend freedom of expression through music, in a safe and democratic space for youth culture. Portas do Sol, the event venue, was the main gate of the city's walls and today is a viewpoint overlooking Cova da Beira and Serra da Estrela, surrounded by street art in the historic neighborhood.
Among the highlighted artists, Saint Caboclo is a Brazilian considered a figure of the new generation of European electronic music, who started as a DJ and producer in 2018, mixing baile funk, techno, jersey, and house, having performed at festivals such as Boiler Room, MEO Kalorama, and NOS Alive. Manoamour is the founder of CLUBSUOR, a rising label in Lisbon, while Sopro, Rhavilla, and Enzin are UBI students.
