Scottish midfielder Scott McTominay, who plays for Napoli, will undergo surgery to correct a cardiac arrhythmia. The Italian club announced that the player will undergo surgery shortly.
McTominay, 28 years old, arrived at Napoli last summer from Manchester United, where he spent his entire youth and professional career. This season, he has been an important piece in the midfield of the team coached by Antonio Conte.
The procedure is scheduled to take place shortly, and the expectation is that the player will return to sporting activity after the international break, a period during which the national teams will be in action.
The cardiac problem was detected during the routine medical examinations carried out by the club. McTominay is expected to be away from the pitch during the period necessary for his full recovery.
