Future of Richard Ríos: Luís Aguilar reports that the Colombian is heading to Saudi Arabia

SIC Notícias1 September 2026 at 15:27

The Colombian Richard Ríos, currently a player for Benfica, is heading to Saudi Arabia just days before the transfer market closes. The 24-year-old forward could leave the 'agles' towards Arab football in a deal involving a loan.

Journalist Luís Aguilar reports that Benfica and the Saudi Arabian club have reached advanced negotiations for the Colombian player. The talks between the two clubs have been ongoing in recent days, coinciding with the final stretch of the transfer period.

According to the same source, the 'agles' could benefit from an estimated loan fee between three and five million euros. This value represents a significant financial return for Benfica in a possible temporary transfer agreement.

Richard Ríos arrived at Benfica in 2024 and failed to establish himself as an undisputed starter in Bruno Lage's team. The possible move to Saudi Arabia comes at a time when the transfer market is about to close, which accelerates negotiations between the interested clubs.
