Amélia de Jesus, known as the eccentric euro-millionaire from Marco de Canaveses, in the district of Porto, spoke again about her life after winning the Euromillions. In 2008, when she was 54 years old, she won the prize of 50.8 million euros in the European draw, which would be equivalent to almost one million euros for each year lived.
The winner, native of the locality of Ariz, in the municipality of Marco de Canaveses, became known for her eccentricities after the big prize. However, despite the accumulated fortune, Amélia de Jesus says it did not bring her happiness.
In an interview, the euro-millionaire revealed she was happier before winning the prize, when she only had "pennies". She also denied those who thought she would become a millionaire and radically change her life, like going to Hollywood, stating that she only likes her hometown and does not intend to leave the place where she has always lived.
