The Municipal Services of Vila do Conde (SMVC) reinforced their biowaste collection capacity with the acquisition of a new vehicle. The vehicle is of the combined type, equipped with a rear-loading lift system and operates entirely with electric energy, which represents a step in the modernization of the waste collection fleet.
The total investment amounted to 207 thousand and 747 euros, a value that includes VAT. This expense was financed under the Environmental Fund, a national program that supports sustainability and environmental protection initiatives.
The SMVC announced the news through a post on social media, where they highlighted that the new vehicle is more efficient than the previous ones. With this acquisition, the aim is to reinforce the collection of organic waste, contributing to a more sustainable management of biowaste in the municipality.
