The city of Viseu now provides free public transport for all residents. Access to the service costs only 5 euros and requires proof of residence.
This measure extends the free public transport policy that already existed in the city, previously limited to certain groups.
Viseu now follows the example of other Portuguese cities that have already implemented similar systems, such as Porto and Cascais. This trend demonstrates a growing movement in Portugal to eliminate economic barriers to accessing urban public transport.
