The Institute for Higher Education published the available vacancies for the 2nd phase of the 2026 National Access Contest to Higher Education. There are 412 courses with places still available, most of which are at polytechnic universities, the new name given to the former higher polytechnic institutes.
The 2nd phase started on August 24 and ends on September 20. These vacancies are intended to accommodate the approximately 10,500 students who were not placed in the first phase, as well as those students who wish to apply now and those students who will take the national exams in the special season created to give opportunity to those "affected" by the failures that occurred in the digital grading.
The announcement of the results of the 2nd phase of the contest is scheduled for September 30, followed by the 3rd phase between October 10 and 12.
