Russia considers Portugal "one of the most hostile countries in Europe". The assurance was given by Aleksei Chekmarev, press attaché of the Embassy of Russia in Portugal.

Aleksei Chekmarev explained that Portugal "follows the anti-Russian policies of the European Union and NATO", thus justifying the classification of Portugal as one of the most hostile countries to Russia in Europe.
