DIÁRIO de Notícias da Madeira is going through a restructuring just weeks away from celebrating its 150 years. The changes include alterations in the management and editorial leadership of the newspaper and TSF-Madeira, with the goal of creating a more integrated operation across the various platforms.
Rúben Santos was appointed Editor-in-Chief, reinforcing the commitment to internal staff. Having joined DIÁRIO in 2017, he gained visibility at TSF-Madeira and in coordinating own projects, now taking on the joint multimedia coordination between the newspaper and the radio station.
Roberto Ferreira (former deputy editor), João Filipe Pestana, and Ricardo Duarte Freitas (former executive editors) became Senior Writers, in a hierarchical redefinition that reduces middle management positions. The new model is based on a management with a single editor-in-chief at the operational level, supported by closing editors and thematic editors.
