The Republican National Guard arrested on Tuesday morning, September 1st, two men suspected of carrying out robberies in the Almeirim region. The operation took place in Travessa da Olaria, near the Town Hall.
The arrested are suspected of having robbed a pharmacy in the parish of Muge, in the municipality of Salvaterra de Magos, on Monday, August 31st. The individuals were riding through the center of Almeirim on a high-displacement motorcycle, dressed in black and with their faces covered.
When they were intercepted by GNR soldiers, the suspects tried to flee, and were chased before being captured. In their possession were found at least one firearm and a knife, as well as other items allegedly related to thefts and robberies.
The two men were taken to the GNR Territorial Post of Almeirim for questioning and formalization of the case.
