The Association for Production and Animation of Audiovisual of Viana do Castelo, known as AO NORTE, received the Public Utility Status, a title awarded by the Government. The award took place on August 31st, a Monday, and was published in an order by the Secretary of State for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers in the Official Gazette.
Founded in December 1994, AO NORTE is a non-profit association whose purpose is to promote cinematographic and audiovisual culture. The association plays a central role in the cultural landscape of the Viana do Castelo region.
In addition to promoting cinematographic and audiovisual culture, the association also participates in the development of education and training. With the new status, AO NORTE now has official recognition as a public utility entity.
