Mette-Marit, wife of King Haakon VIII of Norway, will not be present at her husband's constitutional oath ceremony before the Storting, the Norwegian Parliament. The royal house informed that the queen suffered new complications related to the lung transplant she underwent last June.
The moment was highly anticipated by the Norwegian royal family, being a historic day for the country. However, Mette-Marit's state of health prevented her from accompanying her husband at this solemn occasion.
This is not the first time the queen has faced health complications. The lung transplant was performed in June, and since then Mette-Marit has been dealing with various difficulties in her recovery process.
