Portuguese women's under-18 team wins gold at the Mediterranean Games

Portugal's women's under-18 football team won the gold medal in the football tournament at the Mediterranean Games after defeating Italy 4-0 in the final held in Taranto. The Portuguese team completely dominated the match and achieved a solid victory against the Italian team.

Vianense player Ana Rita Oliveira was the standout performer, scoring two goals at the 6th and 26th minute of play. Her performance was decisive for the favorable result of the Portuguese team.

The remaining goals were scored by Matilde Matos at 15 minutes and Raquel Vitorino at 64 minutes, completing the final score of 4-0 in favor of Portugal.

This victory represents the first medals won by Portuguese football at the Mediterranean Games. The gold achieved in Taranto 2026 was also Portugal's 11th title in the competition.
