Salvador fulfilled the dream of entering the field at the Estádio da Luz

Salvador, a six-year-old boy, fulfilled on Monday the dream of entering the field at the Estádio da Luz, hand in hand with player Rafa Silva, before the match between Benfica and Estoril. The moment was provided by the Benfica Foundation and allowed the child to get close to the players and meet some of his idols up close.

Salvador was born on May 13, 2020 and lives with recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa, a rare and serious disease that makes the skin extremely fragile. This condition causes the frequent appearance of blisters and painful wounds at the slightest touch or friction, which means that even a simple hug, a touch or a game can cause new injuries. The disease also affects the esophagus and requires permanent care, including treatments, creams and dressings.

Salvador's family has been seeking to raise awareness about the disease, not only for fundraising, but mainly for awareness and to find solutions that allow access to innovative treatments. One of the possibilities mentioned is Vyjuvek, a treatment already approved in several European countries, but not available in Portugal due to its high cost, making access particularly difficult.

This moment at the Estádio da Luz represented a dream come true for Salvador, who had the opportunity to be with one of his idols at a major sporting event.
