The School of Education of Setúbal, a building designed by architect Siza Vieira, is competing in the "21st Century" category of the "New 7 Wonders of Portugal", representing the Greater Lisbon region. Voting can be done by telephone call to number 761 207 059 or via the TVI PASS application, at a cost of 1 euro plus VAT per vote.
In this category, the School of Education of Setúbal competes with six other heritage sites: the Leixões Cruise Terminal (Matosinhos), the Olive Oil Museum (Oliveira do Hospital), the Tiago Cabaço Winery (Estremoz), Portimão Arena (Portimão), the Capelinhos Volcano Interpretation Centre (Horta, Azores) and Casa das Mudas (Calheta, Madeira).
The national semi-final ceremony is scheduled for September 5 at 9:30 PM, at the National Palace of Sintra, live on TVI, presented by Pedro Teixeira and Maria Cerqueira Gomes, with the participation of 49 finalist regional heritage sites.
The three most voted heritage sites from each of the seven categories — Castles, Major Works, History, Religion, 20th Century, 21st Century and Tourism — will be selected for the national grand final, to be held on September 12, also at the National Palace of Sintra.
