Taxis will be able to also operate as TVDE starting this Tuesday, provided they comply with the requirements applicable to vehicles assigned to this activity. This is one of the main changes in the new TVDE regime law that comes into force.
Video recording will now be possible in TVDE vehicles, a measure aimed at enhancing safety for both passengers and drivers. This change allows vehicles to be equipped with video cameras.
With the end of the dynamic pricing cap, TVDE service prices may increase during periods of higher demand. This measure raises concerns about the cost for users during peak demand periods.
The integration of taxis into the TVDE regime represents a significant change in the transport sector in Portugal, allowing taxi vehicles to also operate as paid passenger transport vehicles through digital platforms.
