Five people saved in two coordinated operations from Funchal

The Funchal Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Sub-Center coordinated two rescue operations that resulted in the rescue of five people. The Navy revealed this data relating to the same period under analysis.

During this period, the Lisbon Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center, based in Lisbon, recorded 28 incidents in its area of responsibility, which resulted in 46 people being saved.

The MRCC of Ponta Delgada, in the Azores, coordinated 13 search and rescue actions, allowing nine people to be rescued.

The data released refers to the first eight months of the period under analysis, covering the three main search and maritime rescue coordination entities in Portugal.
