The Regional Government of Madeira implemented today a 90% support for maritime costs for bread and pastry production on the island of Porto Santo. The measure aims to compensate the logistical difficulties faced by local producers due to the maritime transport necessary for the supply of raw materials.
The support is in effect until the end of the year, providing significant relief to sector professionals who depend on the transport of ingredients and products to the island. The maximum amount allocated per company is 10 thousand euros.
This initiative comes in the context of the specific difficulties that Porto Santo faces as an island dependent on maritime transport for receiving essential goods for local production. The Madeiran Executive justifies the measure as essential to ensure the economic viability of bakeries and pastry shops in the region.
