Since 2020, such a high number of collective redundancies hadn't been recorded in Portugal. Until July, 375 collective redundancies were reported, a significant number that marks a growing trend in the Portuguese economy.
Micro-enterprises were responsible for 105 of the collective redundancies reported. Small enterprises led with 174 cases, representing the majority of situations recorded.
Medium enterprises contributed with 68 collective redundancies, while large enterprises accounted for 28 cases. These data show that the phenomenon of collective redundancies affects companies of all sizes in the country.
