Altura or Quintanar del Rey, who is the second finalist of 'El Grand Prix 2026'?

El Grand Prix 2026 already has its complete grand final. Quintanar del Rey, a municipality in the province of Cuenca, secured the second available spot in the final after defeating Altura, from the province of Castellón, by a narrow 34-33.

The municipality from Cuenca will face Polinyà in the final gala of this edition, which is scheduled for Wednesday, September 2nd.

Melani Olivares accompanied the Castellón team as godmother, while Galder Varas supported the representatives from Cuenca during the competition.

DGArtes: Support for programming reaches 71 projects and leaves 110 out due to lack of funds

The Directorate-General for the Arts (DGArtes) will support 71 artistic projects with approximately 1.885 million euros under the 2025 Programming Project Support program, while 110 applications were left without support due to lack of funding. Of the 216 candidate projects, 47 are music, 12 theater, 6 dance, 4 street arts, and 2 circus. Geographically, the Center, North, and Greater Lisbon regions concentrate the majority of supported projects. Representative organizations in the Culture sector have been warning about delays in opening the calls for proposals and underfunding, a situation that repeats itself in relation to previous years.
