The annual inflation rate in the euro area accelerated to 3.3% in August, according to released data. This value represents a significant increase compared to the previous month.
In terms of monthly variation, the inflation rate increased by 0.4 percentage points, rising from 2.9% in July to 3.3% in August.
Portugal was above the euro area average at this time, which means Portuguese consumers faced higher inflation than the average observed across the euro area as a whole.
