The Câmara de Tomar will receive 200 thousand euros from the Environmental Fund to carry out the dredging of the urban section of the Nabão river, as well as cleaning upstream and downstream of the city. The information was provided by the president of the municipality to the Portuguese news agency.
The financial support is part of a package of approximately 4.2 million euros in additional funds that the Portuguese Government mobilized to recover territories affected by the severe weather recorded in the months of January and February.
Of the total funds made available by the executive, almost 3.2 million euros will be destined for other recovery interventions, not specified in the news, related to the damage caused by the adverse weather conditions in those two months.
