Nancy Grace Roman Telescope to explore the darkest secrets of the Universe and has already begun its space journey

SAPO Tek1 September 2026 at 10:48

The new NASA Nancy Grace Roman telescope has already departed for space, eight months before the originally planned launch date. The mission aims to help astronomers study dark matter and dark energy, two of the most mysterious phenomena in the Universe.

In addition to studying the invisible components of the cosmos, the telescope will also allow the investigation of worlds outside our Solar System. This capability represents a significant advance in space exploration and in the search for answers about the Universe.

The telescope was named in honor of Nancy Grace Roman, an important figure at NASA often referred to as the "mother of Hubble," in recognition of her fundamental role in the development of space telescopes. Her space journey marks the beginning of a new era of astronomical discoveries.
