In July, telecommunications prices in Portugal showed a new decline, following a trend of reduction observed in recent months. According to recent data, the country recorded the second largest decrease in the average evolution of telecommunications prices among European Union member states over the last 12 months.
The National Communications Authority (ANACOM) revealed that this decline results from greater competition in the sector, driven by the entry of new operators into the market and the evolution of available offers. The improvement in network infrastructures and the increase in integrated service packages also contributed to this reduction.
Portuguese consumers have benefited from this decrease, being able to access internet, telephone, and television services at more affordable prices. Compared to other EU countries, Portugal stands out not only for the drop in prices, but also for the quality of services, which has evolved significantly.
Industry analysts point out that the downward trend in prices should continue, driven by the need for companies to adapt to an increasingly competitive market. With this, consumers are expected to continue to enjoy favorable conditions and a wider range of options.
