The President of the Republic promulgated a decree regarding the return of foreigners, after a decision by the Constitutional Court on the matter.
Secretary-General António José Seguro had requested preventive oversight of several provisions of this diploma, expressing doubts mainly related to two aspects: children's protection and the duration of foreigners' detention.
The Constitutional Court analyzed the questioned provisions and considered them in conformity with the Constitution, thus validating the diploma.
With the green light from the Constitutional Court, the President of the Republic proceeded with the promulgation of the decree, thus making it law.
