Jair Renan asks for votes for Esperidião Amin and Carlos Bolsonaro, but leaves out Michelle's ally in SC from the campaign card

oglobo1 September 2026 at 19:52

Councilman Jair Renan Bolsonaro (PL-SC), son of former president Jair Bolsonaro, distributed campaign material asking for votes for various candidates, including his brother Carlos Bolsonaro (PL-SC) and Senator Esperidião Amin (PP) for Senate. The flyer also requests support for his brother Flavinho for president, Governor Jorginho Mello (PL) to re-elect himself, and state Deputy Camilo Martins (PL-SC).

The material, however, does not include federal Deputy Caroline de Toni (PL-SC), who is running for Senate on the same ticket as Carlos Bolsonaro. Carol de Toni is an ally of former First Lady Michelle Bolsonaro (PL-DF) in Santa Catarina, which makes her exclusion from the "santinho" a notable fact given the kinship among the Bolsonaro family members.

The exclusion of Caroline de Toni contrasts with the inclusion of Amin, who was sidelined earlier this year from the composition of Jorginho Mello's ticket. The Santa Catarina governor prioritized accommodating the ex-president Jair Bolsonaro's son and Carol de Toni herself, who threatened to leave the alliance if she were not benefited in the Senate race.

The episode highlights internal tensions within the Santa Catarina right, where close allies of the Bolsonaro family appear to be not in full harmony. The absence of a direct ally of Michelle Bolsonaro in Jair Renan's campaign material raises questions about divisions within the Bolsonaro political group in the state.
