A woman aged around 70 was found dead at her home on Sunday, in Eira Vedra, in the parish of Vila Cova da Lixa, in the municipality of Felgueiras. The corpse was in an advanced state of decomposition when it was discovered.

The Volunteer Firefighters of Lixa were called to open the door of the house, after an alert issued by the victim's son. Upon arriving at the scene, the firefighters found the woman already deceased inside the house.

The body was removed for autopsy, a procedure that should determine the exact causes of death. The GNR of Lixa was present at the scene to record the incident.

At this time, there are no suspicions of a crime, according to authorities. The case is being investigated as a death without evident signs of criminal involvement.
