A woman was intercepted by prison guards while attempting to deliver the substance known as 'K4' to a relative during a visit to a prison facility. The substance 'K4' is a synthetic drug frequently associated with public health problems in Portugal.
The facts occurred in a prison located in the Greater Lisbon area, where prison authorities detected the attempt to introduce drugs into the facility. The visit in question was immediately handed over to the Public Security Police for investigation.
The woman was charged with drug trafficking, given the evidence collected at the time of her arrest. The competent authorities are proceeding with the judicial process against the suspect.
The accused will be brought before her first judicial hearing, where the precautionary measures to be applied will be evaluated. The case now follows the usual legal procedures for this type of crime.
