Universidade Nova de Lisboa opened a research center in Mafra, in a space located in the city's convent. This new structure aims to expand the university's research activities beyond the main campus.
The center will house specialized laboratories in music acoustics, dedicated to the study and research in this specific area. Additionally, a heritage digitization project will operate in that space, with researchers involved in these activities.
The space will not be reserved only for academic research. Cultural programming and training activities are also planned, which will be open to the local community, allowing the inhabitants of Mafra to have access to these activities.
This initiative represents an investment by Universidade Nova in the interior of the country, bringing scientific and cultural resources to an area that traditionally has less offering in this type of infrastructure.
