ZERO – Association for a Sustainable Terrestrial System published, this Tuesday, an analysis on the quality of bathing waters in Portugal. According to the organization, the available data indicate a worsening of the situation in mainland Portugal, with a significant increase in bathing restrictions and bans. The association also warned that the available information about the bathing waters in Madeira is only partial, which limits the complete assessment of the situation in the region. ZERO reports that bathing restrictions increased by 65% and bans more than doubled between May and July, evidencing a deterioration of conditions in Portuguese bathing areas.
