The National Film Agency (Ancine) responded to the Federal Police on Saturday (29) regarding the situation of the film "Dark Horse," a controversial production documenting the political trajectory of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL). According to the agency, the feature film has not yet completed all the bureaucratic steps required to be released in Brazil.
According to Ancine, the foreign work registration was accepted, however other steps still need to be fulfilled before the film can be publicly screened in the country. The agency did not specify exactly what these pending steps are.
Ancine also clarified that the film did not receive federal public funds managed by the agency. For this reason, the production is not required to account to the agency regarding expenses related to its creation.
