President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's dinner with businessmen and bankers took place on Monday night at the Alvorada Palace. The meeting was organized by the president of the PT and coordinator of Lula's campaign, Edinho Silva, and by the Finance Minister, Dario Durigan, bringing together 16 guests.
The main theme of the dinner was the diagnosis that the current level of interest rates harms the country's economy. The participants took the opportunity to present complaints about the cost of credit in Brazil.
Representatives from various sectors were present, including the financial market, industrial sector, transportation, agribusiness and health area. Among the guests were André Esteves (BTG), Luiz Carlos Trabuco (Bradesco), Joesley Batista (JBS), Rubens Menin (MRV Engenharia), Roberto Setúbal (Itaú Unibanco) and other prominent names from Brazilian business.
