President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva received on Monday evening a group of prominent businesspeople for a dinner at the Palace of Alvorada, the official residence of the Presidency of the Republic. The event is part of Lula's attempt to seek re-election, showing that he has dialogue with representatives of the country's Gross Domestic Product.
Among the confirmed participants were names such as Joesley Batista (JBS), André Esteves (BTG), Luiz Carlos Trabuco (Bradesco), Rubens Ometto (Cosan), André Gerdau (Gerdau), Rubens Menin (MRV Engenharia), Eraí Maggi (Bom Futuro Group), Josué Gomes (Coteminas), José Seripieri Filho (Amil), among other executives from major Brazilian companies.
The dinner was organized by the president of the Workers' Party (PT) and coordinator of Lula's campaign, Edinho Silva, in partnership with the Finance Minister, Fernando Haddad. Vice President Geraldo Alckmin was also present at the event.
