Spain is the guest of honor at the 28th International Book Fair of São Paulo, which takes place from September 4 to 13, 2026, at Anhembi District, in São Paulo. The Spanish participation includes more than 50 authors, a pavilion of approximately 500 m² and a diverse program of literature, music, photography and architecture, under the curation of writer Marta Sanz.
The opening ceremony of the Spanish Pavilion is scheduled for 4 pm on September 4, with the presence of Spain's Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun, and curator Marta Sanz. The concept that guides the entire program is "Confluences," which seeks to highlight the historical, linguistic and cultural ties between Brazil and Spain.
The program brings together more than 30 activities over the ten days of the fair, including literary encounters, workshops, exhibitions, poetic tertulias and concerts, all in dialogue with readers, writers and publishing industry professionals. The curation takes the image of Roberto Burle Marx's mosaics and gardens as an aesthetic and conceptual reference.
