The defense of Renan Santos, a presidential candidate for Mission, announced that it will file a writ of mandamus today in an attempt to suspend the decision by Justice Dias Toffoli, of the Superior Electoral Court, who decided to suspend Renan's political campaign.
At a press conference, Renan classified the restrictions imposed by Toffoli as an "authoritarian inflection" and called the monocratic decision absurd. He began the press conference saying he was an ex-candidate, but later recanted.
Renan became emotional during his speech and stated he believes justice will be done. He criticized what he called a "completely corrupted system" and defended his candidacy as upright and without political connections. The final portion of the speech was cut off in the article.
