United Arab Emirates intercepts Iranian drone

Expresso31 August 2026 at 22:42

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates denied the claim made by the Iranian army that Al Minhad Air Base, located in Dubai, had been targeted in an attack. The Emirati authorities clarified that the information reported by Iran did not correspond to reality.

However, the Ministry of Defence confirmed that a drone was intercepted in the airspace of the United Arab Emirates. This interception occurred in a context of regional tensions between the two countries.

The Iranian army had previously announced that it had carried out an attack on the Emirati military base, which was subsequently denied by Abu Dhabi. The contradiction between the versions of the two countries highlighted the atmosphere of confrontation in the region.

This incident comes at a time of growing instability in the Middle East, where tensions between Iran and various Arab countries of the Gulf have been intensifying in recent times.
