Mariana Machado, an athlete from Braga, won the silver medal in the 10,000 meters at the Mediterranean Games Taranto2026. The 25-year-old from Braga finished the race in 35.05,10 minutes, securing yet another international distinction for Portuguese athletics.
The victory went to Italian Federica Del Buono, who crossed the finish line with a time of 35.02,28 minutes, overtaking Mariana in the final meters of the competition.
The third place on the podium was taken by Moroccan Kaoutar Farkoussi, who completed the race in 35.13,57 minutes, thus completing the set of medalists in the race.
