The government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva confirmed that the minimum wage planned for 2027 is R$ 1,741, according to the bill on budget guidelines (PLOA) released by the Ministry of Planning. This value represents an increase of R$ 120 compared to the national floor of 2025, of R$ 1,621, or a nominal increase of 7.4%.
The calculation of the minimum wage considers the estimate of the National Consumer Price Index (INPC) for 12 months accumulated through November 2026, plus the variation of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from two years prior, limited to a real gain of 2.5%, following the rule established in 2024.
The text also mentions that Correios recorded a loss of R$ 2.4 billion in the second quarter and accumulated losses of R$ 5.5 billion this year, indicating a crisis at the state-owned company. The government plans an investment of R$ 6 billion in the company.
